In this Sindoor Utsav, women apply sindoor to each other. Sindoor is considered a symbol of marital bliss. On the occasion of Sindoor Khela at Kalibari and Bang Bhawan, it seemed as if it was the festival of Holi. Goddess Durga was bid farewell with Sindoor Khela
During this time, women also danced to the beats of Bengal’s famous musical instrument Dhak. After Sindoor Utsav, the idol of Maa was immersed. Kalibari’s president Pranav Sen said that Maa was worshipped every day from month Shashthi to Navami. During this time, Chandi Paath was done and Pushpanjali was offered every day. A cultural program was organized after Sandhya Aarti in the evening along with Mahabhog.
